In January 2000, Neighborhood Health Care, Inc. (NHC) opened
the Anthony Munoz Pediatric Center at Taft Elementary School with
support from the NFL Alumni Association and The Health Foundation
of Greater Cincinnati. More recently, in affiliation with Cincinnati
Children's Hospital, NHC assumed school-based health center
operations at Burton Elementary School, Rockdale Academy Luther
Lemon, M.D. Health Center (newly built), and South Avondale School.
We provide a range of health services to children at these schools,
including primary health care, mental and behavioral health care
and oral health care. These services are also offered to the siblings
of the children who are elementary school students. Results from
the latest study released by the Health Foundation of Greater
Cincinnati show that school-based health centers keep children
healthy and in school while improving their overall health status.
The Neighborhood Health Care, Inc. School-Based Health Services
help build healthy habits and lifestyles in elementary school
children that carry through adolescence and adulthood.
